When purchasing a painting or sketch through a "bricks & mortar" gallery, approximately 30% to 50% of the purchase price is retained by the gallery to cover the cost of rent, staff salaries, liability insurance, heating, lighting, promotion, shipping and many other costs associated with maintaining a physical establishment.
When purchasing directly from the artist, there are fewer expenses involved. As a result, a piece of art work purchased from the artist is approximately half the price compared to a gallery quote.

Based on an agreed upon image…$625.00 per square foot…and is a jointly entered contractual arrangement with clearly defined deliverables.
In the event the image is significantly altered from the original agreement during the rendering process, an appropriate increase in fee will be negotiated (based on detail and estimated time required).
